The Mattole River fishing season opens on January 1st and runs until April 1st.
Due to low water flows the river is closed.

Fishing is one of the more easy-to-do hobbies that couples can enjoy together. It is also one of the least expensive, if you merely plan to fish for fun.

I've tracked the Mattole flows over the past two winter seasons. I would hope that two successive years of higher flows has allowed for good escapement for salmon/steelhead.....does anyone have any data on this.....returns here in the Pacific Northwest have been down.....best wishes
